I love this series and would dearly love to re-read all of them, but with 38 titles including novellas, I don’t see it happening anytime soon. This book starts with a vacation in Ireland visiting Roarke’s family. It gives a glimpse into what his life could have been like if his father had not been the murdering SOB that he was. It also shows the love between Roarke and Eve.
I like that Robb has gotten away from so much negative tension between them. The last few books have shown they are more believing in their love for each other. The only real fights seem to occur when they are trying to protect one another from danger.
Posession in Death (in the anthology The Other Side) will be released November 30, 2010 and the next full novel, Treachery in Death, is due out February 22, 2011. Normally with books being released that close together, I would wait and read them all at once. However, I never wait to read an Eve and Roarke book! I love them way too much for that.

This is the first title in a new series that will be written by a group of authors like the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy books have been. I wish I didn’t know that because I tend to read based on the author rather than the series. There are several series which are written by different authors . . . 39 Clues is one. I tend not to read them because I don’t want one author who I might not like to ruin an entire series for me.
Anyway, having said all that, I am Number Four was actually a pretty good book. It follows the premise that aliens are among us. As a matter of fact, there are two different groups of aliens from separate planets. One group invaded the others’ home planet and have followed the survivors to Earth to finish wiping them out.
I will probably have to read the rest of the series because my interest has been caught. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention there is a love story between one of the aliens and a human girl.

This book could quite possibly be the next Hunger Games. There is no romance to it . . . the kids are only twelve years old, but it has all the excitement and suspense of Hunger Games. Once again, the adults have pretty much destroyed the world and it is up to the kids to save it. The ending is definitely a setup for a sequel (The Whisper, 2011), but it is not a cliff hanger and very satisfying. I can’t wait to start recommending this book!

I really wanted to like this book because it is written by Diana Gabaldon’s son. I gave it over a hundred pages, but I can’t even finish the chapter. Plenty of blood and guts, but not very much plot progression.
I can’t begin to imagine who would enjoy this book. Oh well, it’s like I tell the kids . . . that’s why there are so many types of books, so there is something for everyone.

Not only is this book the third in the Dreamlight series, it is the ninth in the Arcane Society series, and the seventh in the Harmony series. I love it! Although it does make it problematical in regards to shelving. LOL
It has taken several hundred years and a journey across galaxies, but finally the Jones and the Winters are together. Of course, I can’t wait to see another contemporary book to see how the Joneses of our time fare with their romances.
